GuptaChairman Of The BoardSaugata joined Marico Limited in January 2004 as head of Marketing. In the year 2007 he was elevated to become the CEO of the Company's India business. In April 2013, Marico restructured its Consumer Product Business (CPB) in India and International Business Group (IBG) under Saugata's leadership as the CEO of Marico Limited, the unified FMCG business. In March 2014, Saugata was appointed as the Managing Director of the Company. Prior to joining Marico, Saugata was Chief of Marketing and Group Sales at ICICI Prudential and was part of the start up team that was instrumental in establishing ICICI Prudential as the largest private sector Insurance firm in the country. Saugata started his career with Cadbury's where he spent 9 years in various roles in Sales and Marketing in India and the United Kingdom. His last role was Marketing Manager - Chocolates. Saugata has 20 years of experience primarily in FMCG sector. He has an engineering degree from IIT Kharagpur and is an alumnus of IIM Bangalore.
AgrawalChief Finance Officer Pawan is a Chartered Accountant (2000), and a B.Com (Hons) Graduate (1999) from St. Xavier’s college, Calcutta. Pawan has about 2 decades of leadership experience across various finance verticals like Financial Planning & Analysis, Corporate Finance, Treasury, Investor Relations, Taxation & Commercial functions in the FMCG domain.
He joined Marico in 2004 as Regional Operations Manager for South Sales Division in Hyderabad. He has spent over 16 years with Marico and contributed in areas of Business Finance, Strategy Business planning, Cost optimisation, International Business operations, setting up Internal Control architecture, Business Process Transformation and major Taxation transition. Prior to Marico, he worked with Eveready Industries (I) limited for 4 years in Internal Audit and Sales Commercial functions across many locations.
In his 20 years of long career, he has had successful stints in areas of Business Finance and Corporate Finance. Backed by strong leadership skills and experience of managing diverse people, he has managed operations comprising both scale & complexity and has driven transformational change agenda for the organisation.
MishraChief Operating Officer (COO) - India Sales & CEO - New BusinessSanjay Mishra is responsible for the Go-To-Market (GTM) Transformation in line with Marico’s portfolio of the future, and reinforce the Sales function. He is also responsible for the new business vertical at Marico Limited, which functions as an largely independent unit, and includes the business units of Premium Personal Care and Foods, along with the newly acquired company- Beardo.
In addition Sanjay has also provided leadership oversight to the Bangladesh business which has exhibited a stellar performance and he continues to be on the Board of Marico Bangladesh where he actively mentors the leadership on overall Strategy, Sales and Distribution.
Prior to Marico, Sanjay was working with Pepsico where he started his career as Sales Director – Traditional Trade for India in 2009. Sanjay did his Bachelor’s degree in Science in 1992 from City College, Kolkata and completed his Business Management from Institute of Management Technology, Ghaziabad in 1995.
Bringing with him over 20 years of experience accompanied, he has also had a long association with Marico where he led and supported various sales leadership roles from 1997 to 2006.
Managing Director Naveen brings with him an illustrious 15 years of experience with two heavy weights in the FMCG scene in India, namely PepsiCo and Asian Paints. He did his BBA in 1999 from University of Lucknow and completed his PGP in Management (MBA) from Indian Institute of Management, Indore in 2001. Naveen joins us from PepsiCo where he started his career as General Manager - Channel Development in 2008. He was later promoted as VP Sales (East India & Exports) where he drove disproportionate growth and ensured a step jump in distribution through Go To Market transformation.
His last assignment was Sales Director - North Market Unit, one of the largest and most profitable Market Units for PepsiCo India. Prior to this Naveen has had seven years of experience with Asian Paints across retail and institutional sales. In his various roles with Asian Paints, he has worked across East, North & West regions in India.
Managing Director Ashish Goupal took over as Managing Director of Marico Bangladesh Limited (MBL) in July 2018. He joins Marico Bangladesh after a long and rich career with Marico Group where he was Head of Trade Marketing, Shopper Marketing & Demand Planning for the India business. Ashish started his career as a management trainee with global consumer durable major Samsung in year 2004 and thereafter started his long stint with Marico's India Business in 2006.
During his 12 year stint with Marico, Ashish excelled and delivered path breaking performance in the areas of Sales, Brand Management, New Product Development, Trade Marketing, Shopper Marketing and Demand Planning. In his career he has successfully driven projects in Business Transformation, Process Transformation and Cost optimization along with global consultants. He is also credited with designing the Channel Expansion Model for Marico-India, expanding the network by more than 100k outlets. His deep understanding of business along with rich functional experience helped him in launching several successful innovations like Parachute Advansed Hot Oil and winning the prestigious Lakshya Awards for Excellence in Demand Planning, Innovation Award for Brand innovation and Sales Process Transformation.
Ashish has versatile interests and passionately pursues numismatics. In particular, he takes a keen interest in contributing towards developing industry talent and working with young professionals. He has been associated with Marcus Evans Group-Singapore and with The Economic Times for training industry talent on Rural Marketing, Shopper Marketing & Channel Management.
Independent Director Mr. Ashraful Hadi was appointed as an Independent Director for Marico Bangladesh Limited with effect from April 25th 2016, for the next three years.
An advocate of the High Court Division of the Supreme Court of Bangladesh and Barrister-at-Law from the U.K., Mr. Hadi is a Partner at Dr. Kamal Hossain and Associates, one of the most reputed and the leading law firm in Bangladesh. He has over 15 years of experience as a lawyer both at home and abroad. His practice over the years has involved working with various multinational and local organizations where he has acted as counsel as well as provided legal advice in the areas of telecom, admiralty, large infrastructure projects, IT, commercial and international trade disputes, arbitration, banking and securities market, taxation and constitutional law and so on. He has also acted as counsel in several public interest litigations for protection of fundamental rights.
Mr. Hadi completed his B.Comm from the University of Chittagong in 1992, received LL.B., Hons from the University of London in 1998 and was called to the Bar of England and Wales , UK in 1999.
MahmudIndependent DirectorMs. Parveen Mahmud is a chartered accountant by qualification and has an illustrious career as a finance professional. She is the Council member and Past President of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh (ICAB). In her diversified professional career, Ms. Mahmud worked in the development sector and was a practicing chartered accountant.
Ms. Mahmud started her career with BRAC, and was the Deputy Managing Director of Palli Karma-Sahayak Foundation (PKSF). She was a partner of ACNABIN, Chartered Accountants. She was the first female President of ICAB for the year 2011 and also the first female Board member in the South Asian Federation of Accountants (SAFA), the apex accounting professional body of the SAARC. She is the Chairperson, CA Female Forum, ICAB. She was the member of National Advisory Panel for SME Development of Bangladesh and founding Board member of SME Foundation and Convener, SME Women’s Forum.
Ms. Mahmud is also a member of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), Bangladesh. She is the Managing Director of Grameen Telecom Trust. She received “Women at Work-2017” Award from BASIS and “Women of Inspiration Awards”-2017 from the BOLD Bangladesh. She was awarded Begum Rokeya Shining Personality Award 2006 for women’s empowerment by the Narikantha Foundation, Bangladesh.
Ahmad KhanIndependent DirectorMr. Zakir Ahmed Khan is a celebrated bureaucrat with an illustrious career as former Finance Secretary to the Government of Bangladesh. Mr. Zakir Ahmed Khan did his MA in Economics from the University of Dhaka and MBA from Vrije University, Brussels, Belgium. He also studied Development Economics and Development Administration at the Colorado State University as a Hubert Humphrey Fellow. Before joining the Pakistan Audit and Accounts Service in 1970 he served briefly as a Research Associate in the Bureau of Economic Research and as a Lecturer in Economics, University of Dhaka. He also served as a part time Lecturer in the Department of Finance, University of Dhaka.
During his 46 years of service, Mr. Khan held various senior level positions in the Ministries of Finance, Commerce, Establishment, Energy, Civil Aviation and Tourism, Cabinet Division and Bangladesh Audit and Accounts Department. He served as Finance Secretary and Secretary, Internal Resources Division and Chairman, National Board of Revenue for five years. Prior to his retirement in early 2009, he served as Alternate Executive Director, World Bank representing Bangladesh, Bhutan, India and Srilanka.
