Marico Bangladesh Limited was incorporated in September 1999 in Bangladesh. In September 2009, the company was listed with Dhaka Stock Exchange and Chittagong Stock Exchange.

Marico Bangladesh Limited is a subsidiary of Marico Limited, which is based in India. The parent company holds the majority of shareholding (90 percent as on July 2, 2013) in Marico Bangladesh. More information on Marico Limited can be found at www.marico.com.

Marico Bangladesh Limited operates in the fast-moving consumer goods space in Bangladesh, with significant presence in Hair Care, Edible Oil and Male Grooming categories. More than 80 percent of the company’s turnover is derived from the sale of Parachute Coconut Oil, the flagship brand of Marico Bangladesh Limited; the same brand has been enjoying leadership position in the hair oil market of Bangladesh for several years.

Over the past years, Marico Bangladesh Limited has made great strides in diversifying its brand portfolio. A significant portion of this portfolio is now made of the Value Added Hair Oil (VAHO) segment which now comprises of popular hair oil brands such as Parachute Beliphool Lite, Parachute Advansed, Parachute Cooling Hair Oil and Nihar. The company’s Hair Code brand (coupled with its faster-acting variant Hair Code Keshkala) enjoys leadership position in powdered hair dye segment. In 2013, the company entered new markets with the introduction of Livon (a post-wash hair serum), Saffola Active (a healthy edible oil) and Set Wet Deodorants.

Marico Bangladesh has two factories, both of which are located in Gazipur, Dhaka. The company also has five depots. More details on the location of the factories and depots are given below.
